2020 has provided Yorkshire Children’s Trust with a unique set of challenge, more so with our Christmas Appeal. Our Autumn and Winter is normally our busiest period as we collect gifts from local schools, colleges and businesses across the Yorkshire region. We use these gifts to bring smiles to faces of children in hospital over the festive period.

However, with hospital restrictions in place, and for the safety of members of the public and our team members we have had to approach things very differently this year. Instead of asking for gifts, we are asking for donation pledges. With over £1500 raised so far on our JustGiving Christmas page, we will be using these funds directly to support the children on the ward, so even though we are working differently, they’ll still have a gift to open over Christmas.

As we approach the final two weeks to the big day, we welcome your final donation pledges so we can send out our support cheques to local hospitals across the region. Remember, no matter what you can afford to donate, every penny makes a difference. Please click here to donate on our specific appeal page.

Our hospital grotto has also gone virtual this year, with Santa Blake providing direct Zoom calls to children on the ward at Calderdale Hospital to pass on his Christmas and get well wishes.
