Our 10th Birthday Appeal may seem like a long time ago, after all it happened mid-pandemic and it seems a lifetime ago! – Although we couldn’t hold a special party like we had hoped, we did start a fundraising appeal to raise essential funds to create new and more up-to-date counselling facilities, including a sensory room to allow us to support children with additional sensory needs.

We managed to raise a truly staggering £30,000 towards upgrading our facilities, and today we have received an additional £3,000 from the A.M. Fenton Trust who have previously supported our caravan appeal with a similar amount. The huge funds from all of our supporters are currently being used to create new facilities at our brand new offices at Horley Green Works in Halifax. We hope to have the counselling rooms ready for the first clients in a couple of weeks and the sensory room will be completed in early December.

I know the entire team here at Yorkshire Children’s Trust and our service users would like to pass our heartfelt thanks to not just the A.M. Fenton Trust, but all the organisations that have kindly supported our appeal to help us provide some very special facilities for counselling and play therapy for local children.

We will post further updates and photographs as we complete our move over the next few weeks – make sure you like and follow our social media channels!
