2020 has certainly been a very difficult year and we’ve had to amend our grotto experience this year to ensure it is safe for not only the children and staff on the ward, but for people who would like to make donations and our team members too. In Autumn we liaised with the local hospitals and made the difficult decision that we could not make our normal annual visits to Yorkshire hospitals, but at the same time we did not want anyone to miss out.

This is where our JustGiving Appeal came in, we have been collecting donation pledges instead of gifts this year instead of physical gifts and we have made our first donations, dropping a massive £500 cheque to the children’s ward at Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax. Santa will also this afternoon be making live video calls over Zoom to the children on the ward live from his grotto in the North Pole. He will spend the afternoon talking to the children and their brothers and sisters to promise them that Christmas is not cancelled and he will be making his special deliveries next week!

Thank you to everyone that has donated so far to the Christmas Appeal, there are too many to mention individually, but we have been overjoyed and overwhelmed again at the love and support that we have received from members of the public, local schools, colleges and businesses. We could not do this without you, so thank you to each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts.
