Holiday Home Appeal – Promoting Positive Mental Health
Yorkshire Children’s Trust support the emotional and financial needs of some of the most vulnerable children in the Yorkshire region.
As part of our support we offer free respite breaks, not just for the poorly child, but parents and siblings too. A chance for the entire family to recharge their batteries and our breaks are a great way to promote positive mental health. However, we have seen a vast increase in demand for our services since the start of the pandemic with children losing loved ones and suffering long bouts of isolation away from family, friends and peers causing a profound effect including reports of self harming, anxiety and stress.
Yorkshire Children’s Trust provide counselling and free respite breaks. We sadly cannot keep up with demand and are asking for help to fundraise to help fund a second static caravan for us to double capacity and provide many more respite breaks. Our current caravan is a 2 bedroom, 6 berth. To accommodate bigger families, we are fundraising for a three bedroom, 8 berth unit and with your help we hope to have it in place for the start of the next holiday season.
We have set up a Justgiving appeal to help raise the £30,000 to fund a new unit which will have all the comforts of home including central heating and double glazing, Wi-Fi and digital tv. Allowing the charity to provide respite breaks all throughout the year, no matter the weather.
We would welcome individual or business donations towards our appeal, and best of all, 100% of every donation will be used towards funding the holiday home. We will not take anything out! So your donation really will make a massive difference to our support we can offer to local families.
