Your private information is just that, …private! We want to ensure it stays that way too even when you are sharing information with the charity for us to process a support application for your family. So we are in the process of upgrading our email services.
We have always used secure TLS encrypted email to communicate with beneficiaries, companies and members of the public, but we are mindful that we can always do better. With discussions about end to end encrypted email services with the NHS we decided it was our turn to take the plunge and follow by their example.
We have joined forces with one of the world leaders in encrypted email services, Protonmail. You may notice as we migrate over the next few weeks that you start to receive email from email addresses ending yctrust.org, instead of yctrust.uk, this is part of our migration and is nothing to be concerned about, you are welcome to call a member of our team on 01422 728080 if you have any questions during the changeover period.
If you need to send medical reports, DLA letters or other confidential information, we can now initiate a secure end to end encryption, password protected email exchange with you. Please do not send any information until we ask for it via a secure message. We will send a password to your mobile phone which will allow you to open and send back information securely. End-to-end encryption means the contents of your emails are encrypted on your device before being uploaded to our servers and can only be decrypted and read by the intended recipient.
If you need any help or have any questions about our new email services, please drop an email to charity@yctrust.uk and a member of our team will be happy to help you further.
