Yorkshire Children’s Trust is highly honoured to be one of the nominated charities of the annual Brighouse Jigsaw Festival held at St. Martins Church in Brighouse, this annual event which first started in 2012 and has grown year on year, normally attracts hundreds of visitors and is staffed by volunteers and raises thousands of pounds for local Calderdale charities every single year. To date £83,000 has been raised by the hard word and dedicated of local people.
Just like most events in 2020, the annual Jigsaw Festival could not take place in in current form. Thinking outside the box (pun intended!), the organisers decided to take the festival online and many hours were spent cataloguing, photographing and pricing jigsaws on a new online portal. This has been an amazing success and has meant, rather than being an event over a bank holiday weekend, the online shop has been able to take orders over the last few months.
This week we have received some amazing news that to date the event has raised an amazing £1500 for Yorkshire Children’s Trust and a similar amount for other nominated Calderdale organisations. This is fantastic and we would like to thank the amazing team of volunteers that have gone above and beyond to make changes to the event to make it all online.
The online festival is still online, with a range of jigsaws to suit all ages as well as some specialist puzzles. To take a look at current puzzles and jigsaws in stock, please pop over to the online portal.
