Everyone connected with Yorkshire Children’s Trust, from the Trustees, team members, supporters and beneficiaries are deeply saddened on the passing of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II on 8th September 2022. We all offer our deepest sympathy and best wishes to all members of the Royal family.

It is an immense source of pride that our charity founder, Simon Widdop had the greatest honour of meeting HM The Queen at the centenary anniversary of the NCVO at Windsor Castle on Tuesday 2nd April 2019.

The NCVO represents a diverse community of 14,000 member organisations of all sizes, a third of the voluntary sector workforce in England. Yorkshire Children’s Trust were deeply honoured to receive an invitation to the event which included the opportunity to talk about the great work of our small charity with The Queen. These will remain fond memories that will be treasured for the rest of our lives.

Simon Widdop meeting The Queen

Along with many other charity organisations across the United Kingdom, we are immensely thankful for the support she offered to charities and volunteering throughout her lifetime. The Queen was truly a global figure who was an inspiration to all through her record breaking reign.

As today, King Charles III is officially ascended to the throne, we sincerely wish him the very best through these very difficult moments and sincerely declare, Long live the King.

Finally, as we learn that the funeral of HM The Queen will be held on Monday 19th September 2022, we will of course offer our respect to the entire Royal family on this sombre day and will be closed.
