Family Breaks at Butlins in Skegness

Free respite breaks at our holiday home at Butlins for families who have children with long term physical or mental illnesses or disabilities. We provide the break not just for the child, but mum, dad and any siblings too. We are also more than happy to accommodate a carer should one be required. All we ask for a returnable security deposit against breakages or damage.

Our holiday home is a static caravan and is a real home away from home and a great way for all the family to recharge their batteries. This is suitable for most families with great facilities including a wet room, wheelchair access and lowered units.

Our caravan is located in a quiet part of the Butlins caravan park so if you are wanting to simply have a quiet get away, this is the ideal location.

With all the comforts of home including digital television, streaming services from Sky’s NowTV and Netflix as well as the usual on demand catch up services will keep you and your family entertained for hours. We even include superfast internet to keep you connected to your friends and social media.

Our respite holidays are designed for the families to have a break away together to aid recuperation and improve mental health and positive outlooks.

Although we provide our breaks on an accommodation-only basis, Butlins very kindly do offer complimentary access to the facilities and entertainment on the resort. This is subject to availability and may change at short notice should new restrictions be put in place by the government.

So this summer you will have access to the amusements and fairground, shops, bars and restaurants as well the new Pig & Whistle complex. Beach access as well as to the water fountains too.

Limited access to shows may be available in Reds, Centre Stage, The Pavilion and Studio36. Butlins will confirm what is available when you check-in for your break.

Please note that we do not guarantee the availability of any entertainment for our breaks, and access to the main resort will not be available on off-peak breaks. Any entertainment and main resort access is provided as a complimentary feature of our breaks. Access to the main resort may be restricted or cancelled due to changes in Coronavirus restrictions or Butlins’ own special events such as music weekends or other specialist events.

If you want to venture off site, the famous Ingoldmells market is open most days and is only a short walk away. Theres also some other great things to do nearby:

  • Natureland Seal Sanctuary
  • Skegness Aquarium
  • Pleasure Beach Fairground
  • Tower Gardens & Park

  Frequently Asked Questions

Who can make an application for the Respite Breaks and who can go on them?

We welcome applications from parents/guardians, teachers, social/support workers and medical professionals. The breaks are designed for the family unit (parent, the poorly/disabled child and sibings) to have a break together to aid positive mental health.

Can I pick a specific date such as in school holidays?

Sadly no. As our breaks are classed as respite breaks and not a holiday we wish to be fair to all applicants. If your application is successful you will be able to choose from a weekend or mid-week break and request a particular month. We will then allocate the first free date.

I can’t take my kids on holiday in school time!

Our breaks are respite breaks to aid positive mental health which also improves learning in school. We provide school support letters on request and we have not had a school refuse a respite break so far.
